Roles in the practice
Registered nurse, phototherapy
Narrowband UVB phototherapy at DermCare is delivered by nursing staff under the order of a dermatologist. The role involves checking the skin before each session, delivering and recording the prescribed dose, adjusting the dose within the limits set by the physician, recognising and reporting adverse reactions, teaching patients how to protect their eyes and untreated skin, and maintaining the treatment record. Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario is required. Training in the operation of phototherapy equipment is provided.
Medical office administration
The administrative team runs the referral desk and the front office. The work includes receiving and logging referrals, checking them for completeness, passing them to a dermatologist for triage, contacting patients to book, confirming appointments, preparing and sending consultation reports to referring offices, handling telephone enquiries and OHIP billing. Familiarity with medical terminology, electronic medical records and Ontario health card validation is an asset. Discretion with personal health information is essential.
Clinical research coordinator
The practice is an investigator site for sponsored dermatology clinical trials. The coordinator manages the day to day running of studies: screening potential participants against protocol criteria, supporting the informed consent process, scheduling study visits, collecting and entering data, maintaining regulatory documentation and liaising with sponsors, monitors and the research ethics board. Experience in clinical research and training in Good Clinical Practice are expected, and a clinical or life sciences background is an asset.
How to express interest
Please call the clinic on 905 625 5600 and ask to speak to the office manager about employment. State the type of role you are interested in and you will be told whether there is a current or anticipated opening and how to submit a resume. Please do not send personal health information or unsolicited documents by fax, since the fax line is reserved for patient referrals.
A dedicated careers email address is to be confirmed before publication.
